Ok, so this is all over the internet the since yesterday, a big shocker regardless of your preference on Ben Affleck. Here's my thoughts on this cast.

I personally think Affleck is a fine actor, he act well enough in the roles that he was in, but at the same time, he has been in some pretty terrible movies. Everyone raised the comparison on his role as Dare Devil, I thought the movie was just plain bad, no actor in the same exact role would save that movie in my opinion. So that's not entirely his fault. I think Affleck has the look as Bruce Wayne, he has the chin/jaw to be a good looking Batman, I think he will look better than Bale as a Batman, Bale has weak jaw line and lips, he was never a good Batman, Keaton's Batman looks so much better because of Keaton's lip and jaw. I think Affleck should probably look ok with a Batman mask on, hopefully without Bale's horrendous Batman voice.

Through out Affleck's career, doesn't matter what movie he was, he is always in the same role over and over. He is great in roles that was written FOR him, there's nothing wrong with that, you are not going to see him in a breakthrough role that make you say "wow, I didn't know he could do that!". He doesn't have a wide acting range, he is what he is. I don't ever remember him in anything intensive, even he was in bunch of physically or situation intensive movies, he has always been cool, calm and laid back. I think this aspect of him is perfect for Millionaire Bruce Wayne, but Bruce Wayne is deeper than that. This is a kid that saw his parents got murdered, suppressing his emotions all his life, there's that intensive underneath the playboy exterior. I don't believe Affleck can handle this kind of split personality.

I suspect whoever handling "Man of Steel" franchise is playing a publicity stunt game. Everything they do up to this point is to get everyone talking and continue to talk. They know what gives the fan a raise, and they give you just enough to get the fans' attention away from Marvel's movies. I didn't like Man of Steel, I didn't like they rush into Superman vs Batman, and I don't believe I'll like Affleck's Batman, I hope they proves me wrong though.
I don't care what the critic says, this is an embodiment of classic Japanese comics and cartoons from the 70 and 80's.
Those of you grew up with this culture, please go see it and prove to Hollywood that you can make a successful movie that is not another remake.
It's been a looong time since I last visited my DeviantArt. I apologize for the long absent, maybe some of you are wondering where I've been, but then again, maybe not. :p

For those who are wondering, (hopefully there are some) I've left my comic book career behind to work as a full-time industrial designer for more than an year now. As much as I enjoy what I do now, to be quite honest, working on comics was more soul-fulfilling experience than anything that I've done at this point.

The more I think about what I'd like to contribute to the comic book industry, the more I feel like a fish out of water right now. Seems like only yesterday when I drew my last comic book page, but yet it seems so far away.

I know there has been quite a few messages left in my inbox, I'll try to get to them as soon as I can. Again, I apologize for not been able to respond sooner. I'll try to stay around a bit more in the future.
Not sure if anyone watching me is a photographer, hopefully there some.

I've just uploaded a photo ej-su.deviantart.com/art/Tulip… , the color the sharpness looks pretty good on my computer, but for some strange reason, after uploading, the photo shows compression artifacts.

I've seen some great photos on DA, none of them shows the problem I have with mine. Is there any trick for uploading photos on DA?

Twins Twins Twins!!

Journal Entry: Mon Sep 14, 2009, 10:39 PM
Just a quick note, my wife has given birth to a pair of twins on Sat. September 12th.

The boy is 6 lb 10 oz, The girl is 6 lb 8 oz. They are both pretty good size even for single birth babies. I am amazed by how much my wife could store inside her tummy.

Astroboy preview pages

Journal Entry: Mon Aug 17, 2009, 10:48 AM
On USA Today website, there's a 10-page exclusive preview of my upcoming Astroboy movie adaptation #1. I was told that the paper itself has a mention of the comic on the front page. I am assuming, like on the website, the creators' names aren't mentioned, but it's kind of cool having something I worked on appear on a national newspaper.

Go read it and let me know what you think. Thanks!!

Life After Astro

Journal Entry: Thu Jun 25, 2009, 2:32 AM
The last issue of Astroboy Movie Adaptation is done, sent off for approval on 15th of June. I probably should've make this Journal entry last week, but I didn't, I felt like I needed a little bit of relaxing. Speaking of journal, this is actually my first ever journal entry on DA. Strangely, I've unintentionally abandoned my "real homepage" at protodepot.com. I wanted to do more with my website, but sadly I have little time to do anything.

For the past few months, I have been going to bed at 11:00pm (probably consistently earliest I have ever gone to bed) and getting up at 2:00am. My parents told me that during these hours, livers does its work on neutralizing the toxin built up by our bodies during the day, sleeping allows livers to function the way it meant to be, otherwise the toxin continues to build up inside the liver. I aint going to argue with that, besides, this schedule works out quite well. I get to concentrate on my work between 2am to 9am or whenever my little girl wakes up. After changing her and feeding her, we played a little bit, sometimes I would get a friend or my wife's sister to come over to watch her, whenever that happens, I would get to spend couple more hours on drawing. In the afternoon, after little Myra had her lunch, I would put her to bed for nap, sometimes if I feel a little tired, I would get get 30mins to an hour of nap with her, then I work some more until my wife comes home. It's the family time during evening, sometimes Myra would play with mom sometimes by herself, other times she would fight me for my Cintiq when she sees me on it. I give Myra bath around 8:30pm and put her to bed around 9:00pm. Then I would work a little more until my bed time at 11:00pm.

Amazingly, I was able to finish the entire issue of Astroboy Movie Adaptation #4 in less than 14 days. I still could not believe that I was somewhat associated with the legacy of Tezuka Sensei. This series of comic will be my last set of comic book work for awhile. I have to prepare the house for our expected twins in September. The new baby will need a lot of care and little Myra will feel left out so she needs  attention. There will be very little time for such demanding work of comic book.
